Cisco Meraki MS450-12 12-Port 40G QSFP+ Aggregation Switch — 2 × 100G QSFP28 Uplinks, Layer 3, 1U Rack
The Cisco Meraki MS450-12 is a high-capacity aggregation switch purpose-built for demanding enterprise and campus core deployments. It delivers twelve 40 Gigabit Ethernet QSFP+ ports for high-density fiber aggregation alongside two 100 Gigabit QSFP28 uplink ports for backbone connectivity. Cloud-managed through the Meraki dashboard, the MS450-12 supports full Layer 3 routing including static and dynamic protocols with OSPF, DHCP server and relay, and VRRP warm spare for high availability. Hot-swappable power supplies and fans ensure operational resilience, and the modular power configuration supports an optional redundant PSU sold separately.

Best Used For
The MS450-12 is ideally deployed as a campus core or data center aggregation switch, consolidating high-density 40G fiber uplinks from MS355 or similar access-layer switches and terminating them on 100G backbone links. It is particularly well-suited for organizations requiring scalable, cloud-managed aggregation with built-in Layer 3 routing and high-availability redundancy in a 1U form factor.
